The Differences Between Liberals and Conservatives
Both liberals and conservatives, as we use those terms right now in 2018 in the U.S., are for more government intervention. They just differ on what the government should be doing. In effect, what liberal has come to mean is freedom in social interactions, but not in economic interactions. The early progressives were interested in things that present-day liberals would find very agreeable.
