CHAPTER

Is Consciousness a Thing?

I think consciousness should be seen as a relation rather than a thing. Relations are not things, relations are just relations. And I think bringing back the subject to philosophy is a helpful way of managing those problems of consciousness. We don't really have a good way of inserting subjectivity without the subject. So you still get that. It's like a Neil Seth's view as an informed hallucination. There's something in your brain that is consciousness that you're related to that's totally separate from the outside world. This is so popular that I think it's hard to think of it a different way. But I'm basically like trying to remove that weird veil that we've created.
