Is There a Limit to the Number of Paintings?

I remember Saitombe saying that he because he works in burs he would sometimes not make a painting for or even a drawing from months on end and then he would get in the studio and often work very quickly. He said that all the time spent kind of leading up to that moment of putting the paint on the canvas was the work so the time that he couldn't paint or was reading or staring out the window that was working towards the painting as well.
