"i've had some good hair cuts in my life, but i never walk in looking for a therapy session," Charlotte says. "Ruth and sindy have created what i can really only describe as an oasis of acceptance in their salon", charlotte adds. Ruth has been working at glen meadow for almost 30 years; right next to her every day is her best friend and co worker whose name is sindy olson. She's actually using a knitted blanket that she gave me as a sound er as i'm talking to you.

It can be quite rare to find yourself in a place where you feel totally accepted. In this episode, producer Reva Goldberg takes us to a truly unique beauty salon: it’s the ultimate safe space for its customers, many of whom are in their 80s and 90s. We take a close look at two hairdressers who create a laugh-out-loud-funny atmosphere, while also showing deep compassion at the same time. We’ll also explore why feeling unconditionally accepted helps us cope with the toughest emotions at any age.
