The Significance of 40 Days

40 is this number in Scripture that has a lot of different significances, but it always has to do with people growing closer to God and at the same time are not being there yet. So we're on the Thursday of the sixth week of Easter's when we celebrate this. And so Jesus has 40 days with them where they're in his presence. It says he taught them and proved that he was really raised by various signs. But then they're going to receive after the 40 days on the day 50 on Pentecost for the next mystery,. The gift of the Holy Spirit brings everything that God has promised together.
