Ben Caskall: I think this long termism viewhi, is a reductiat absurdum of effective altruism. He says the larger that ledger sheet gets in terms of people who are supposed to matter against whose lives your own life is still supposed to count as equal. And then when you take that same perspective and you apply it to the long term future, which is really big, there's even more people in the future that you're supposed to think about. It's just, if it seems absurd that you should be concerned about how your actions might cause the robot apocalypse, or that any of your actions of any kind should be evaluated against their impact on people millions of years
