The Twelve Steps to Alcoholics Anonymous
In 1950, the first international conference of Alcoholics Anonymous was held in Cleveland. Bill had to do another selling job, just like he had to do with the twelve steps in the beginning. And it took him several years to get enough people interested in them that he began to feel that he could get them approved. The usual thing was said when he came into one of those meetings with Bill, tell us about your flash that you had in the towns that lay off those down traditions. We don't want to hear about them.
