How can you take ownership of your own emotions when you believe that they are being controlled by another human being? That's what blame does. It becomes the easy place where your brain goes to in all types of situations. So self compassion, forgiveness, empaty is is the way out. And still, i'm going to reiterate this, just because you're not blaming another person for your internal emotions doesn't mean that they can't be held accountable for their actions.
