The intensity of the debate on the sacrifice of the mass in the sixteenth century is also an expression of the importance of the celebration of the eucharist. Both rome and the lutherans see this as much more central than other than protestant traditions generally do. This is why the reformed tend to say, we just have some differences on communion. It's like not a big deal, like who cares? Well, why do you care that much that we just havesome a little bit of a different emphasis on this? So because we saw it is so essential that we wouldn't unite if we had differences on this question show that we see t is as vital.
