Using RNA Sequencing to Improve the Working Memory Task
In a new study, scientists used RNA sequencing to find genes that were differentially expressed between high and low performers on the working memory task. What they found was bigger changes in gene expression in the thalamus than in the PFC. The most robust effects for a protein called GPR-12, which had really previously not been very well characterized. You can theoretically imagine someday you could have cognitive enhancement by targeting this protein.
