The Story of Roderick Newell and Elizabeth Newell
Roderick and Nicholas Newell were murdered on the island of Jersey. The brothers had been visiting their mother for her birthday when she was killed. Roderick paid £103.42 in cash to a builders merchant who sold him lots of items. He bought spades, tarpaulings, torches, heavy-duty plastic sacks - even a can of pholstery cleaner. Then he hid them all in his van before going out into the night with Elizabeth's dead husband Mark. They drank scotch until they couldn't take it any more then shot each other at point blank range.
