The Susquehanna Lady Liberty was put up by Jean Blattwist and a group of friends. They used John boats to get the 17 foot long statue out into the river. It's pitch dark except for lights coming from highway quarter mile away, so they had no ladders involved at all. "We just sort of suited up as best we could and aimed at as best we can," he says.
