Are We Seeing Different Definitions of Life?
The origin of life and the way in which bacteria took over the planet, it was practically inevitable. I think it happened very early because it was thermodynamically probable. But then this chimeric cell, the two cells, one getting inside another, all complex life. So it seems what we are drifting towards is a sense in which life may be inevitable, given the right conditions. That would be weird on the radio. Robin's not doing experiments on the origin of life. If he was, it would be more like weird science trying to make a multi-breasted star woman. Still coming out really wonky at the very first time.
