The Monochromatic Effect of Emotional Monochrome

Whiny is often what the reader says when what they mean is emotionally monochromatic. I use an example of this in my class. And it is because this character at every moment is talking about his son being lost. This person had one emotion through the entire second half of that season. Even though it was a great emotion and it was a poignant character development, the fact that he only hit this one note destroyed him as a character for most of yours.
