I love how, you know, in typical screenwriting classes, they talk about save the cat, right? And of course, it's the dirty secret that every screenwriter doesn't like to admit, but they all have saved the cat on their bookshelves. It isn't the person saving a cat. It's beating the shit or maybe murdering a security guard and then stealing his watch. So you know exactly what you're investing in, right? You're investing in this guy, the guy that is so hungry,. The movie clearly presents him as someone who is openly malicious; there are all kinds of indications throughout the movie that he may not be wired to function on that level.
