The Importance of Ethics in AI Decision Making
A lot of the decisions that go into policy making and decision making while we are developing AI systems have ethical decisions embedded in them. If it is not taught through chances are it's a bad decision or we don't know what that decision was so we cannot be consistent in our decision making. Our job as philosophers is to really analyze these decisions and make sure that they are done well, consistent and coherently. We have to show to the practitioners that we can do this in a way that is efficient that does not create a roadblock for their innovation or for their deployment of the technology.
