Otis Blue by Tom Dowd
All of Otis Blue, often considered the greatest solo album in history, was recorded in a 28 hour period. Tom Dowd called Redding a genius and told Phil Walden that only Bobby Darrin and Ray Charles had as much ability in the studio. Other than those singles and All Man Trouble, Otis Blue was made up entirely of cover versions. There were also covers of songs by The Temptations, William Bell and B.B. King.
