Is There a Disabilities Conscience?

I was part of a church that did have women preaching and was very open minded and inclusive. We had a large population of people who were unhoused. And yet, when i brought up that we shouldn't have lame, you know, an ablest slur in the worship services as part of the musical liturgy,. Or when i asked for a ramp to be put in so that i could access the building that we were in, i was told it wasn't stewarting tithewell. All of those things are a little bit dehumanizing. But sort of biblicism, or literalism in certain traditions, where words like "lame" are bad is also problematic.
