The Importance of Pretending

There's this common idea that the children live in the sort of fantasy world but is that really true I would say it it is and it isn't so on the one hand it's true that children can temporarily live in a fantasy world. From about 18 months they start to engage in and play as they become a little bit older two-year-olds and three- year-olds not only does they produce pretend actions but they can collaborate with a sibling or a mother and create little episodes of pretend play.
