The Reality of Television

TV is obviously not a reflection of reality and we can see this obviously just from the medium itself. A convincing enough representation or portrayal can trick at the very least the subconscious mind into believing that what it is seeing is in some way real. This is not just something that affects the way that fictional admittedly and obviously fictional material is presented but also that material which is supposedly nonfiction like the news. Sometimes quite literally by what is included in the frame of the television versus what is excluded in around it. And metaphorically what is focused on in the news coverage versus the wider context of this. I think people felt like the Supreme Court made the decision here in Wisconsin that it was time to open up
