Do You Think Putin Can Survive a Military Destroyment?

Russia is not an oligarchy. There are no oligarchs in russia. An oligarch has an independent power base. They all derive their power from putin. I could perfectly well imagine scenarios in which putin is assassinated, or there is a revolution of various sorts. But it's still an extraordinarily improbable event. So he certainly can survive it. He would have to make a series of devastatingly bad decisions in terms of how he handles the internal dynamic not to survive it. And he could. It remains very hard to see exactly how that happens.
