The Origins of the Bones and Their Significance

Archaeologists have uncovered a large palace complex and various royal cemeteries around it, as well as large temples and sacrificial pits. The pits were found to contain the remains of about 30 thousand human beings who had been sacrificed to deities or ancestors. And they also found that most of the valuable objects associated with these burial pits had already looted many centuries earlier. But there were two significant exceptions. One is the tomb of lady how who was a royal consort whose tomb has elaborate decorated bronze vessels - including the largest bronze cauldron ever found in the world. These bronzes must have been made by an enormous, highly productive workshop with a production line of over a thousand people. And
