Character Development - The How of the Character

When developing characters, there are four elements in play. The first element is, does the character want anything? And how tangible is the want? Second element underneath the want is the emotional need. Underneath the tangible goal, there is a primal need that is driving your character. It's not the tives, it's the verbs.
