The White House Is Having Conversations About Whether They Can Unilaterally Raise the Debt Ceiling
The debt ceiling has to be raised by Congress, not the White House. Kevin McCarthy needs to act like a speaker and put a debt ceiling bill on the floor,. And if he does that, there are 218 votes there, I believe, to raise it. If we want to have a real genuine conversation about future spending, we're welcome to have that.
