The biggest drivers of our federal spending aren't little nickel and dime programs. Two thirds of all federal spending is eaten up in something like five programs, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security,. Obamacare, and then our debt interest payments. So it doesn't buy choice, but it will buy necessity. And so whether they want to address spending or not, they will have to at some point in the next decade.
