The David Letterman Show
David Letterman once reported that the city was being pelted with hail the size of canned hands and enthusiastically congratulated a tropical storm when it was upgraded to hurricane status. He formed a lifelong friendship with Johnny Carson, which is a pretty powerful person in the American media landscape. By 1980, he was hosting his own morning show on NBC called The David Letterman Show. It did not rate very well and was cancelled after less than a year in the air. But every so often, he will say something funny in this episode.
