Wilford Riley is an associate professor of political science at Kentucky State University. He has written a book called taboo 10 facts you can't talk about race and class relations in the US and UK media. In it he looked at which themes were based in reality and which ones were frankly bogus. The total number of unarmed black people that were shot by American cops in a typical year broke down to about 20 25 there were less than a hundred unarmed men of all races killed in atypical year.
