The Importance of Re-Examination in Life

I think our culture as a whole, we have become less interested in music and more interested in food. It's really many small things. If it were one big thing that you could just overturn, it would be less insidious. But it's how hard it is to look at all these small things, things you take as natural. There are so many wonderful restaurants today, and there are. You go down that path and you almost don't even think about it as a very deliberate cultural choice in favor of complacency.
