The Implications of Panspermia
There is one theory called panspermia that life might have started beyond the earth, maybe on a different planet like Mars. But surely no one really thinks that panspermia is really how come from Earth? Some scientists do. The important question is whether we're actually seeing these things. We can contaminate it elsewhere, but we're sneezing onto our neighbouring planets. So what do we do about contamination when we launch rockets into space to land on other planets in order to stop DNA making it to Mars? Back in the 70s, we did just a really dumb, simple thing - put your entire probe, your entire Viking lander in an oven and bake it for fortnight.
