I Fell Out of Love With Football
I was born Irish parents in Slough and I was travelling to training every day. It was taking me about two and a half hours. We had to do all our duties at the time as an apprentice. When you're in the profession, sometimes it's really difficult. You don't always play. All of these things resonate. What kids see is just all the joys and all the stuff that comes with being a professional footballer. Even to this day, I've got this passion for football. As a player, I did fall out of love with it. The game becoming more structured? Was it the peer pressure? What exactly was it that brought that? Everything, really.
