The Power of Analytical Thinking in Edwards

Edwards' thought is so far above mine. But I find them engaging doctrinally, compelling practically. Others have found something transcendently engaging in Edwards. The atheist Perry Miller said that Edwards repays study because he speaks from a pre-religious conception which often seems hopelessly out of touch with even his own day. Yet at the same time he speaks from an insight into science and psychology so much ahead of his time that our own can hardly be said to have caught up with him. He will not do therefore in the soporific flow of events which we modern surround ourselves.
