The Importance of Punishment
Punishment is not incompatible with love when we look at parents who punish their children, he says. When a parent punishes his child, the parent is actually willing the good of the child in as much as the parent is punishing to correct or reform the child's behavior. And they have good behavior, which is a good thing for the child,. So at least we can say in some way, at least in this way, love is not compatible with punishment and that punished people are more loving than unloving.
