The ugly perten, or shal perkten, did i pronounce that right? Or shah perkten would arrive at your door. These were creatures with fangs, horse tails, the bodies of goats and huge tusks. It is very probable that crampus is directly descended from the shah perten in appearance and perta in his deeds. In our modern times, perta both punished bad behavior and rewarded good behavior.
