How to Think Long-Term

In the middle ages, people knew that their grandchildren would likely live in the same world as them. So it was easier to kind of plan ahead and think into the future. We live at an extraordinary time when things are changing so fast exponentially through progress and technology - we have no idea what the world will be like for our grandchildren. That setting makes it difficult from the start to think long-term. One other thing I write about in the book is what I call temporal windows, which are kind of ways to kind of access deep time, that are tangible in your local surroundings.
