Hamilton was a serious student of the British banking system which was just kind of new and he knew finance. Jefferson's more about the tone of America and Hamilton is more about the practice of America what does it take to be an independent nation. So I just think of poor Washington admiring both of these men greatly but differently and seeing them squabble breaks his heart.
