The Black Panthers always, from the very beginning, believed in building alliances across racial lines. The Us organization did have some kind of political and economic agenda. They were pushing for self-determination, even for this question of land. But they also believed that the cultural terrain that is trying to do what Marcus Garvey wanted to do was key to building a radical movement in North America.
