All kinds of love, and he makes this clear throughout his book, can be corrupted. Even even in the idea though of liking, he says you have to begin with the bottom and move up. He talks about the pleasures of appreciation so that we like something. And if we like it, again, we don't have to have it. It's also interesting too. I heard some echoing of Lewis's distinction between admiration and joy versus contemplation.
