Jeff Booth: I think there's less of an understanding of quantitative easing and of the era-parent monetary policy, modern monetary theory among Bitcoiners. Lynn Alden: MMT is kind of a newer version of QE where you don't even need the Fed to buy it directly into existence. Jeff Booth: We basically run these persistent trade deficits and then foreigners reinvest a lot of those trade deficits back into borrowing our treasuries. The US has been an exception because most developed countries don't heavily rely on for a borrowing.
