The Israeli Part in the Hamas Operation

The operation began on May the night that's a whole seven days after those 27 some odd rockets flew into Israel. It doesn't really make sense that that would have caused this operation, I think. On the one hand, you can say that the recent cozying of Hamas to Iran and therefore of Hamas to Islamic Jihad,. This left Israel wanting to send a message to Islamic Jihad by saying we're going to treat you the same way as Hamas. But in light of all the political mayhem here in Israel, it was also a way of proving to Israelis that the government is still attacking terror. We haven't forgotten about them.
