The Third Discipline of Assent
The Stoic approach is based on three disciplines: desire, aversion and assent. In the discipline of assent, epictitos tells students to slow down when they have an impression about things. He says this allows them to make immediate judgments that initially will take time but then become automatic. The word prosoce can be translated as attention or disidentifying yourself from your own mental state. And so i think that's what i think is interesting in practice for people who are trying to learn stoicism.
