The Importance of Practical Knowledge in Scientific History
There's a lot of people who are famous in scientific history like Feynman as one prominent example who are fantastic at explaining things to people. Edison seems to have mostly kind of thought like a mortal and that he just thought about these things in a very very practical sense. The amount of experiment he could draw upon was just insane but also the amount of practical knowledge he had with metals with materials was off the charts because of a lifetime of 18 hour days doing this stuff. He was obsessed and he continues to opt in.
