The Impact of Genome Studies on Social Programs

I thought when the work on the whole genome studies would actually significantly affect the way people thought about some of these issues. But now I'm not so optimistic because for things like education, it's still the case that you get as good a predictor of education as just asking what was your mother and father's education. Looking at some of the other things like political attitudes or other stuff like that, it didn't seem to me that that was really going to make its way into economics as a viable control in terms of doing studies on people.
