Introduction
Buddhism is the fourth largest world religion, behind hindooism with one point one billion. There are just under 500 ad 50 million buddhists in the world to day. It's capturing the imagination of many westerners who are perhaps jaded by centuries of the judaeo christian way of things. But is this widespread appreciation of buddhism matched by understanding? Are we willing to go beyond smiling buddha in our restaurant to praise a religion that we haven't paused to learn?
