Is There a Light Sensing Capabilities in the Skin of Cuttlefish?
i was trying to understand color blind camouflage when i read there might be some light sensing capabilities imbedded in the skin of sephalopods. So they mimic a starry night as seen from a hundred feet below the water. They blend in with that background so that they look more like the starlight or whatever it is. And therefore you don't see a dark shadow in the shape of a squid. Yum yum by the predator.
