Complex Case Study: Ureteral Stone and Pyelonephritis in a Unstable Patient

This chapter discusses a challenging case of a patient with a completely occlusive right ureteral stone and pyelonephritis who needed urgent interventions like central line placement, intubation, and IR consultation for percutaneous nephrostomy due to instability. The significance of having vasopressors readily available for potential hemodynamic instability is highlighted, supported by a study showing higher mortality in patients with urinary obstructions leading to septic shock.
