William Palmer and the Lamb and Flag

William Palmer was an apprentice to surgeon edward tilecote. Was fired after just three months for taking orders and then pocketing the cash. Started courtship with woman named anne thornton, who sometimes went by annie. They made their home in rougeley, renting a house on market street for a reported 25 pounds a year. Anne's mother had always been suspicious of palmer and vocally against this match when he started borrowing her new son in law. Sometimes characterized as a brookesly irritable person, william welcomed his daughter-in-law but she was slessly irritated at him.
