Smart cities are now on the front line of tackling climate change and experimenting with new energy-efficient innovations. Developing countries could be in a strong position to be at the forefront of this new data-driven world, says Mr O'Brien. He believes that for developing countries, he believes, this could offer huge opportunities. The idea is what we do here in London, we could possibly share with Lisbon and Milan - all you need is an internet connection and the know-how.
