Marshal mc luan was a presbyterian who had become a convert to catholicism. He took his religion extremely seriously and would not brook violations of the church's standardsan beliefs. But he also found himself in an age in which the intellectual world, particularly the literary intellectuals, looked upon religion as they look upon it even more to day. The possibility was at hand, technologically, it was at hand for the unification of all human souls.
