In 14 59, when the wars of the roses start again in earnest, there are series of conflicts which end in york coming to parliament and making a claim to the throne. He was forced into that position because the lancastrians had ly attainted him,. So york was left with no option, effectively, to go all out in his attempts against henry the sixth and his government. And he does this in westminster by walking up to the throne laying hands on it, which is a clear sign of what his intentions were. Now, the people assembled there are shocked dactually respond to this gesture with silence, and are not ready to depose henry the sixth
