William Hogarth's Death

Hogarth's last artistic endeavor was enetchingtitled the bathos, or manner of sinking. People were outraged by this particular work, and politicians who supported the war vocally and publicly criticized hogarth. It only served to dampen his interest in his work. A few months after the pathos was created, in the summer of 17 64, william hogarth had a seizure. And he remained quite ill from that point until his death on october 20, sixth of 17 64. Was 67 at that point and had been working as an engraver and artist for more than four decades.
